Leaving the Coop?

I just checked the coop menu now and saw that farmerpride has left the coop. Did he contact anyone to say why he was leaving? I find it strange for him to suddenly leave without any warning. I checked the all the recipe sections except for the cooked food and I don't think we lost anything important. I'm just curious why he left.
