Simply put if I combine the pomace I make every turn through the winery with low freshness pomace from the market I get 7 or 8 waste every turn. (more in the comments below)
So I've gone through the process of getting organic waste by rotting cereals for a couple game years now in order to make organic fertilizer (I'm going for the organic accomplishment little by little). It's really expensive both in transactions and in money to do this (especially for the higher level organic waste).
One thing I've realized recently is that I can convert my pomace into waste pretty rapidly by combining it with 8% freshness pomace of the same quality. I'm creating about 80 pomace daily by using the winery and have plenty to use for fert. This creates a steady source of waste that can compete a little easier with a source of manure.
All this being said I know that my chickens aren't high enough quality to produce my own 5* manure but Tami is knee deep in chicken *!@& and willing to share so I'm not concerned. I just needed to share the joy of having discovered a better source for waste that doesn't fill my silo, transactions or drain my bank.
I'll be cleaning my chicken coop on the 1st week of February so expect to see some 7* OFE on the board before spring starts. I'll also put some 7* manure and bones for those who can make it themselves.
Thanks for sharing the pomace idea, it's a really good tip. So far, I have never made my own organic waste (except for ones the I get from crop loss). I just check the market a few times a day and buy high quality organic waste whenever I see it so I always have some in stock. With all the high wind lately I was hoping to see more 7* waste on the market but I guess everyone is hoarding it.
Lately I noticed someone even buys out the 1* organic waste on the market to make 1* pesticide... this isn't a very profitable source of income so I don't know why he/she does it.
We don't need organic waste to make pesticide... So, may be that farmer wants to make some fertilizer or finish his/her accomplishment.
Tami, sell me 5x 6* chicken bones if you have some in stock. I have some 6* manure and want to make some pesticide for preventive spray. Thanks in advance.
Okay, I just reached 65 dirtiness today so I cleaned right away instead of waiting for more since there's going to be a freeze tomorrow and I don't think everyone has enough cold resistance.
I'll put the manure and bones on the board in batches of 10. Then I'll also put 7* OFE for those who don't have an organic workshop.

HaHa!! I did the same thing if I need some organic waste too. But, normally I sell pomace to the market.
ReplyDeleteFor organic accomplishment, I prefer to make Basic Productivity Feed instead organic fertilizer, much easier because it use less transaction.

I don't have any more 6* bones but I have lots of 7*. I'll put it on the exchange board now. Just exchange 1 firewood.
ReplyDeleteI also need some bones and manure please, preferably 7*.

Yeah for 7* OFE!...with the chicken bones you gave and the manure the rest is easy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tami !!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tami. If you have some extra manure 7* from the next cleaning, please put it on the Exchange.
