Are everyone comfortable with the current arrangement?
There are some people who like a lot of interaction and like to be organised into doing this or that.
From experience only 5%-10% of the people are like that.
If you like organising and has ideas, please let us know, I would like to promote some of you to councillor.
I think the current arrangement is a healthy balance between what could be an overwhelming commitment and a stale cooperative for the sake of the bonuses alone. I appreciate that folks take a few minutes to comment on things and that this blog's latest post isn't a year old, but one thing I like about this coop and about freefarm is that I can enjoy it and only spend 30-45 min a day on it.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I think I'd appreciate another round of the recipe exchange and if folks are interested I'd be willing to try to organize to try to finish some of our cooperative challenges.
Same, I like that our coop is relaxed but there's also enough initiative amongst the members to do things.
ReplyDeleteI would also like to get organised for the challenges, particularly the Experienced level ones because those are almost complete. Maybe we can make a spreadsheet on googledocs to let people sign up for the ones they want to participate in? I will try to set that up today.
I noticed that on other servers the big coops grow all the fruit trees/shrubs and nuts. I was thinking we could do this too so that we'd be more prepared for missions. Maybe in spring, those who have spare land can plant one of the missing fruits/nuts. I don't want to make members feel obligated to do this, it's only for those who are interested in it.
Also, I started feeding my chickens organic optimum feed so starting spring I can provide 7* organic fertiliser extra for the coop. I can also provide bones for anyone who wants to make their own.
OK, I added a link to a google spreadsheet so members can sign up for challenges. It's just above the challenge list on the right.
ReplyDeleteThe grey boxes are challenges that have already been completed within the coop. You can still do those if you wish.
Most of our members are very helpful and willing to share their resource and true feeling. I am very happy to stay in this cooperative.
ReplyDeleteBesides Tami’s suggestion above, my suggestions are:
1. We need the other 2200 fame to level up our cooperative to Level 4. So, we should focus on very high/high fame mission.
2. Somebody to raise the livestock other than chicken and cows, such as pig.
3. Sell some/all of your products on the exchange board if your products can be processed by someone else in the cooperative. Example, a miller can sell flour to a baker; a butcher can sell meat to people who have meat workshop.
Tami, I had modified the file, on the tournament and festival. We did not win any tournament yet...
ReplyDeleteI will participate in amateur festival cup (we won 2 out of 4) and amateur/experienced winery, bakery and diary challenges before I level up to Veteran.
I think I should able to win the Amateur Winery Challenges and may be Amateur Golden Autumn very soon. :)
Thanks for editing the challenge spreadsheet. Is everyone able to access it? I checked the box which says 'anyone who has the link can edit' so I think we should all be able to make changes to it.
ReplyDeleteYeah it would be nice to have pigs in the coop but since they don't give any eggs or milk they aren't popular... If someone volunteers to raise pigs maybe we can all donate a little money/cereal/feed to help that member get started.
Thanks for the feedbacks.
ReplyDeleteRecipe exchange: I got lazy on this one : P
Will try to do some this weekend.
Challenges: I decided to take a break after I did the veteran. It took quite a bit of concentration to arrange. I am not ready to go back to it yet. Just que me to make up numbers. Sometimes I forget things I promised so do remind me.
Feel free to do what interest you and stop when you need to stop. I am having some rough patches in real life, all manageable, so until I have everything settle, you may find that I may be slightly distracted. Changing job and it create all sort of anxiety.
I'm happy to volunteer to have pigs once I have a money making workshop in place, I'm a newbie on this server, but it is a very supportive coop and I would like to contribute. Might take about half a game year before I have enough money. Like others have said I like this game because it is interesting and challenging without taking up that much time - I'm a working Mum!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to do the Summer Baking Challenge both for Amateur and Experienced as this is the only two Baking Chalenge that I have not won yet. I see that ajoo is also going to enter in this Challenge. Is it OK for both of us to join this Challenge?
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to start growing some stuffs we don't yet have (nuts/fruits). Also something I thought of is that if a coop member is contributing in a challenge that I can help out with I'd love to help them beat others they might not normally be able to. Once folks sign up for things maybe we'll have a better idea.
ReplyDeleteEsamus, you have better chance in baking challenge, your score always scaring me :) Just sign up. I will join the challenge if it doesn’t have enough participants.
ReplyDeleteIf I have extra land in next game year, I will plant blueberry and apple.
You're welcome to plant apple if you want but I have a plot growing in case you are planting for that reason alone.
