Introducing VictorII

Hi guys,

I joined Woodlands last week and just wanted to introduce myself to you guys. My name is Victor, but that was already taken in game. Lacking in creativity, my ign is therefore VictorII. I'm a 25 year old law student from Norway.

I'm only on my 80th turn so far and this is my farm:

I'm baking sourdough bread at the moment (shocking, right?) with my 2x25 bakers (Ousman Jovanny & S Vanny), but I just barely have enough transactions - even before upgrading to lvl3 professional equipment. I haven't upgraded yet cause the electricity cost alone makes it less profitable, not to speak of the problem of getting enough wheat flour at any given time. It's only worth upgrading your bakery with professional equipment once your average profit per use is above $7.

There's no volume discount on electricity, right? It's constant at $0.50/KW?

Anyway, transactions seem to be more of an issue than endurance at this point, which is why I'm putting in a brewery and a barn once I get some free space - that should keep me occupied.

In the medium-term the plan is to put in a winery, an oil-mill and eventually an organic workshop, which by then should be useful with the cows. And I might need another silo before winter comes around (and finish upgrading the one I have).

I'm currently growing stuff for missions, but I only need small amounts, so if you're looking for some Sunflower, Radishes or Pumpkins, let me know - if not I'll probably dump them on the market. It'll be a while before they're done anyway.

  1. Welcome to the coop! :P

Victor's my friend in real life and he's a really nice guy. I showed him my farm a few months ago and then he started playing too (surprisingly!).

Regarding your farm, I think you should invest in more land to grow crops and don't bother with missions that need multi-yield crops unless another coop member is already growing it.

I also think that you should go for the winery before the brewery. Alcohols usually need fruits or hops which are expensive to buy from the market if you don't have a lot of capital. With the winery you could make country wines with vegetables you can grow yourself rather quickly such as potatoes and carrots.

Also, don't wait too long to start raising cows since it will take a few game years to raise their quality and productivity. I can help you out with the feed, just let me know.

I don't think you actually need 2 employees since your farm is still starting out and the supply of flour on the market is limited. Maybe fire one to save money?

  2. Welcome to Woodlands cooperative and FFG.

I suggest you to raise cow as soon as possible. Transfer your cows inside the barn/coops, when they reach 2* (around 30/100) to raise their quality and productivity. Cow+ dairy+ bakery can make you very rich. Chicken and windmill are optional.

All fruits, vegetables, cereals are seasonal available. Most of the time, you would not find any 7* ingredients to use in your brewery or winery. So, don’t build brewery or winery at this moment. You also can have a very rich and successful farm without them.

My suggestions are: 1. Build cow barn. 2. Growing wheat and bake them into sourdough bread. 3. Using the profit from baking, buy more land to grow cereal for feed. 4. When your cow reach 3*, build dairy. Good luck :)
